Skincare Personality Type - Wanderlust

Researcher

If you answered mostly A’s, you’re a researcher!

Skincare isn’t about the destination—it’s about the journey. You’ll search high and low, holding out for that holy grail—and it’s worth it. Once you find the right skincare product, you tend to be pretty loyal. But you’re not afraid to switch things up, either! You’re methodical in your shopping style, on a constant quest for the best new skincare products. That means you’ll only try a new trend if it’s based on proven research and tend to stick to dermatologist-designed staples (like Curology). It’s crucial for you to learn about products before you try them, and that 5-star rating matters to you.

Skincare tip #1: When it comes to skincare, patience and consistency pay off. Be sure to give new products enough time to work before writing them off!

Skincare tip #2: Want to try something new? Reach for once-in-a-while products like exfoliants or moisturizing treatments that won’t add extra steps to your daily routine.

Skincare tip #3: Is it an acne scar or is it post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation? Knowing the difference is key to finding the right treatment!

Recommended for Researcher personalities:

The Travel Minis Set lets you give four popular products a try before committing. Each set provides the products for your core 3-step skin routine with Curology’s Cleanser, Moisturizer, and Sunscreen, plus a 20-piece sheet of Emergency Spot Patch that’s easy to slip into any bag. And they come in handy TSA-approved sizes for the skincare enthusiast who’s always taking off on their next adventure.

Skincare Personality Type - Influencer

Influencer

If you answered mostly B’s, you’re an influencer!

You don’t follow skincare trends—you start them. When it comes to self-care, the most important thing is fun. You’ve got that certain je ne sais quoi, and so does your skincare routine. You love a good shelfie, plus, you actually know how to pronounce “niacinamide.” Cute packaging? Always worth the extra splurge. To you, skincare is a form of self-expression. You’re open-minded and make intuitive purchases. We have just one question… can we get that discount code? 👀

Skincare tip #1: Check your products’ ingredients (including makeup) to make sure they won’t make your skin fussy.

Skincare tip #2: Though they sound delicious, certain natural skincare ingredients like coconut oil and cocoa butter might cause breakouts. Avoid!

Skincare tip #3: Did you know skincare and makeup products expire? Before you dust off that unicorn serum from 2018, check the label!

Recommended for Influencer personalities:

You’re always looking toward the future and the next trends in makeup, music, or fashion. What’s not an up-and-coming look? Fine lines, wrinkles, or dull skin. Help prevent early signs of aging while also helping promote healthy, glowing skin with Curology’s Future-Proofᴿˣ, a prescription-strength formula customized for your concerns. Your formula will include up to three proven ingredients, like tretinoinazelaic acidniacinamide, or tranexamic acid to target your specific skin concerns.

Skincare Personality Type - Realist

Realist

If you answered mostly C’s, you’re a realist!

Skin = health. Health = important. It’s a no-brainer! To you, skincare is just like brushing your teeth: It’s basic self-care. Taking care of your body is taking care of yourself. Cost-effective drugstore products and skincare formulas designed by dermatologists are your go-to’s, and you’re more wary of new skincare trends. That’s not to say your routine is just grandma’s Vaseline! You just prefer a no-nonsense approach. To you, skincare should be as easy as possible.

Skincare tip #1: If you haven’t already, try a minimalist routine with multi-tasking products like facial moisturizers with SPF

Skincare tip #2: Watch out for iffy ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate, isopropyl myristate, and laureth-4, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

Skincare tip #3: If over-the-counter products are failing you, it’s time to see a dermatology provider. Curology can help!

Recommended for Realist personalities:

You take clear skin seriously. If your drugstore acne solutions just aren’t cutting it anymore, it may be time for a customized treatment. Curology’s Custom Formulaᴿˣ is made with acne-busting ingredients chosen specifically for your skincare goals by a dermatology provider. Your formula may contain up to 3 active ingredients like tretinoinazelaic acid, or clindamycin in one easy-to-apply product.

Skincare Personality Type - Visionary

Visionary

If you answered mostly D’s, you’re a visionary.

You have a clear point of view when it comes to skincare. All your friends go to you for skincare advice—that’s because you talk to skincare experts, check your facts, and defy the hype. You want to prevent both breakouts and signs of aging, so you research your product’s ingredients before you buy and care less about the drugstore/high-end binary. You prefer a highly curated routine with multi-tasking products. Skincare minimalism is your friend. To you, it’s all about getting the right results, and it pays off!

Skincare tip #1: Reach for products with multi-tasking skincare ingredients (like tretinoin). Some can treat acne and help prevent signs of aging.

Skincare tip #2: Sun protection is the top anti-aging skin hack, so make sure to always wear sunscreen and apply enough!

Skincare tip #3: Check out hybrid make-up/skincare products like tinted moisturizers, hydrating primers, and BB/CC creams

Recommended for Visionary personalities:

Keep your lips soft and protected effortlessly with Curology’s broad-spectrum SPF 30 Lip Balm. With a deeply moisturizing, truly vegan formula and a radically simple, one-handed applicator, this lip balm does it all. But there’s one thing it doesn’t do—worsen your acne. This lip balm has been tested to be non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, so you can count on it to be acne-friendly.
