1. Introduction

This Notice at Collection (the “Notice at Collection”) supplements our Privacy Notice and California Privacy Addendum and describes Curology, Inc.’s (“Curology,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collection and use of Personal Information during the initial registration process. This Notice at Collection applies solely to visitors, users, and others who complete Curology’s symptoms quiz (“Consumers” or “you”). We adopt this Notice at Collection to comply with the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CPRA”) and any terms defined in the CPRA have the same meaning when used in this notice.

2. Scope of this Notice at Collection

This Notice at Collection applies only to information that we collect during registration on our Website that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you or your device (“Personal Information”). This Notice at Collection does not apply to certain Personal Information that is excluded from scope under the CPRA, as further described in our California Privacy Addendum.

3. Information We Collect About You

During registration, we collect the following categories of Personal Information:

  • Identifier, such as a session cookie, to allow you to resume the registration process within 72 hours;

  • Sensitive Personal Information, specifically your skin symptoms (such as, without limitation, acne, rosacea, dark spots, or hair loss) and goals.

Curology will not collect additional categories of Personal Information at registration without providing you with notice. 

4. Purposes for Collecting Your Personal Information

Curology collects your personal information, including Sensitive Personal Information (specifically, information about your skin symptoms and goals), solely to allow you to return and resume your registration on our Website for up to 72 hours, and for basic triage to determine initial service eligibility.

We do not sell or share the Personal Information we collect during registration for monetary or other valuable consideration, and we do not share this information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Personal Information Retention Periods

We retain your Personal Information collected during registration for up to 72 hours. If you do not complete your registration within this period, your symptom and goals Personal Information will be automatically deleted. If you proceed with registration, you will agree to our Privacy Notice and California Privacy Addendum during the registration process. The Privacy Notice and California Privacy Addendum will govern the retention of your Personal Information.

6. Changes to this Notice at Collection

Curology reserves the right to amend this Notice at Collection at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes, we will provide an updated notice before collecting any additional Personal Information and update the effective date. Your continued provision of Personal Information following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
